I Love Google!

And can now love it even faster.

Scare Easily?

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Viewer Warning:  Strong Language.

Heard of Chatroulette?  The random webcam social media, where you don’t know who you might be paired with?

The Last Exorcism (new) movie used it to launch their film.

Viewers are filmed reacting to the viral …. of a pretty girl they think they are about to chat with.

In its first six days this got 1.3 million YouTube views.

Shocking indeed.

Stella Artois – Beautiful, Smooth and Expensive

Monday, August 30th, 2010

The latest work from Mother London for Stella Artois.  One in a series?  I hope so.

Last year Mother took a Cannes Gold for this piece of nostalgia, a “Smooth  Original”.

But I confess, I’m still a big fan of their old work from Lowe, “Reassuringly Expensive”. Here’s a couple of spots.

Though this one takes the prize for bizarre!

Interesting how many commercials, even in media “expensive” countries are now long-format. With the rise of the internet and the power of sharing something we can expect more and more of.

The Tweet Writer

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

The Tweet Writer is a campaign that was created by our colleagues at JWT Melbourne for The Melbourne Writers Festival. It analyzes your tweets and publishes “your book” based on your tweets which you can then share with friends to raise awareness for the Festival. It’s simple and clever.

Looking forward to more from Dan King and his team from down under!

The Majestic Plastic Bag

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Lovely “mockumentary” (mock documentary) from DDB LA for “Heal The Bay”, raising environmental awareness of the problem of plastic bags.

Voice over is by film and stage legend Jeremy Irons.

If you are lucky, can see higher res copy of film here

A Beastly Way To Exercise

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

I love this.

Sony has just launched a new Sat-Nav range, which included a bicycle mounted, water-proof version.

To encourage usage, they ahve pre-programed a range of cycling routes, which when completed, form the shape of an animal.  Hence the name “Tokyo Zoo”.

So far six animals/routes have been developed in Tokyo.

A really nice idea that could be done on any portable nat-sav (how about on mobile phones for joggers/walkers?)

Would make working out fun, great to share on social media, and pre-measured.

Clean Up The World – Vac From The Sea

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Despite the enormous amount of plastic waste, their is not enough recycled to meet our ongoing needs.

Electrolux, the Swedish electrical manufacturer is doing something about it with their “Vac From The Sea” program – producing a range of Vacuum cleaners using plastic waste collected from the world’s seas.

Scented Banner Ads: Welcome to Outside-the-Box Thinking from Brazil (literally)

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Imagine you’re an advertising agency.

Your client: The country’s best selling men’s fragrance.

The brief: Announce online (and online only) that the product has changed.

Anything else?  Well, yes…there are no stores. The product is sold exclusively by representatives, door to door.

The solution:

SCENTED BANNER NATURA KAIAK from Black Mamba on Vimeo.

Enjoy this piece of genius,

Clever film for a fictious “app” by three Danish students for Cannes young talent entry.
