Amnesty TV

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

Bit more serious than our normal posts, though not without a sense of humour either.

Comedy does sell after all.

Amnesty International have just launched a web-magazine.

Episode One can be enjoyed below. But if its not all enjoyable it is a good chance to see what’s happening in the world, as well as how communications are developing.

More enjoyable, but less true – HBO’s new Tolkeinesque TV Drama “Game of Thrones”. Watch it without getting too worried.

Get those shoes on and get out there!

Another Great Charity Idea

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

Yesterday we shared what CCJC (Coco Cola Japan) was doing for Tsunami relief via its clever vending machine donation mechanic.

Today one from Brazil.

Buy “half” a grocery product for the full cost and half the price goes to Casa Do Zezinho.

Simple idea which helped raise donations by 28% on the previous year.

What a Brilliant Idea!

Coke does it again.

This time with its vending machines in Japan having an extra “product selection” choose – a charitable donation to the Red Cross for Tsunami Relief.

Clever, simple, who wouldn’t add 100 yen to their soft-drink spend?

Visiting Japan? Please donate to this great cause.

Life’s a pinball machine!

A nice way to bring new life into an aging sport (if you can call it that), I’ve started noticing more and more gaming elements being added into extreme sports competition formats too (the latest X games is a great example, where the traditional run-by-run scoring formats have changed into a trick-by-trick jam format, meaning that all the skaters are in the competition area at once and taking turns doing tricks). Seems there’s no limit to how much excitement teens can take!
